Birthday! :D

I thought it was kinda peculiar when Hong Xiang told me during a break one day, that the western canteen stall lady invited us to a barbeque.. The first thing that popped into my head was
church thing, and she did mention that it was organized by her and some church friends. I knew of an unfortunate friend who was surreptiously decieved into going for service, at a church I shall not name, where churchgoers there practised the habit of doing so, quite often.
But this didn't seem like it, save for my ignorance, so Brandon, Shermaine, Hong Xiang and I met on Sunday to go for it. Free food and meeting new people, seemed like a swell idea. Oh yeah, and before that I went over to Popular to get a tack board. Got too many slips of paper lying around and I throw 'em away too quickly, so it'll come in handy..

Put adhesive Wenge wood coloured covering, so it'd match with the rest of my brown furniture! Before that it was a bland shade of light brown, roughly cut. $7 after using the popular card (:
Anyway, so we met the stall vendor at Tanah Merah MRT bus stop, for her to send us to the condo. No one else who was 2nd-party invited managed to turn up, a bit odd to me. But then again I'm a paranoid person.
Being introduced to the adults there was even more wierd, like an extended family get together, and there was only one other teen there, the stall vendor's daughter. I thought I recognized her from somewhere, and it turns out she knew my previous classmates like Chee Hao, Rachel, Li Xiang and the sort, so musta seen er picture somewhere before.
The climax of the oddity was at ice-breakers, that they sat us down to play, with a bunch of primary and secondary school kids. It was orientation camp, except remotely similar. Whacko, team building and such, but at the end of it, it somehow didn't seem as unusual. Even with a small group of us and 11 others :S

Here's a shot at the end of the barbeque. The middle's Rose, the canteen vendor who's really friendly. Gives us extra food and such, but really cuz her foods mmm-good anyway! The barbeque didn't have western food that I was enticed inititally by though, but good food all the same :)

Now next to Shermaine is Caline, Rose's daughter who's our age, studying at Temasek Design school. Hong Xiang and Brandon thinks she looks a bit similar to Shermaine.. Don't think so leh :/
It was about 10pm when we decided to leave, filled and chatted. Hong Xiang suggested watching football at Simpang Bedok, of which neither the sport nor the location was of familiarity.
Don't get me wrong, I don't stray from sports entirely, just a selective preference, especially for tennis. Shermaine, Caline and I tagged along, Brandon in delight at the idea. Some important match to them, which Brandon betted for too, heh. Took this shortly after the match ended at 11.15..

Faizal also came over to watch with em, all the way from Tampines. I also found out something new, that Shermaine has extensive knowledge of soccer. Ok maybe not extensive, but wayyy more than myself. She'd be much more proficient in tennis if she knew that much too, hopefully she'll find interest?
When the match ended, but they brought out a slice of apple crumble with a candle, really surprised me. There was a birthday song, and I think they even told Caline about it. Of course, I was quite elated by everything :D

I'm sure I look darn constipated in this picture, don't know what was going on with my face, but the underlying facial expression is; whoopie! 17 by Brandon and Shermaine behind :P Got home quite late that night, eventful and interesting. The barbeque had no hidden evangilical
intentions, the people there were really friendly and didn't preach or what. So on the whole, it EE-ed. (My OP is apparently bordering ME to EE, whatta shame)
Went to school today, earlier than normal cuz I didn't manage to sleep through the resounding alarm clock. Pleasant day, presents day too! Hehe. Lotsa thanks to Cheryl, Shermaine, Sabrina, Hong Xiang, Brandon, Faizal, Dedrick, and Jun De! Uh oh, in my haste to study for chinese, did I forget anyone? Appreciated the well wishes too! Didn't get any pictures of the stuff cuz time is really tight for chinese and PW, so I'll finish off this post! Sorry for not much elaboration, heh.
Oh anyway, here's a shot of my school publications board. Had a photoshoot of the team recently for the new issue coming out. The people there are mostly from the Arts stream, some of them a bit odd though, but it's kind of a rewarding experience, and got to know more people there too. Good for SGC! (: The editor, Pamela, is second on my left, counting that dude who isn't sitting down.

Tomorrow's Chinese A levels! So screwed, like always. Will try muh best though, if I get an E I think I'll actually stick to that grade! Unlikely E though, Sub pass would make me happy already.. Cheers!
